Smartphone Politics

Barack Obama made a lot of news when he managed to get his Blackberry approved for use in the Oval Office back in 2008. The first President to have a smartphone. Over at Apple 2.0, Philip Elmer-Dewitt has a post showing Mitt Romney using an iPad and iPhone while on vacation. Something tells me the Presidential race will have a closer result than the competion between Blackberry and iPhone.

Buy It If You Like It

Matt Buchanon has written a nice post over at BuzzFeed about broken promises. His theory, one which I agree with completely, is that you should never make a product purchase based on future promise. If you like something just the way it is, buy it. Don't buy hoping for a change that may never come.

Come to think of it, this is a pretty great approach to life.

Designing For the Future, Now

This blog post by Marco Arment really hit home. As a photographer, I'm greatly concerned that my website looks great to prospective clients. I spent a lot of time choosing a site design that looked great when I purchased it. The problem is, it no longer looks good or functions well on iPhones, the new iPad and the new high resolution Retina MacBook Pro. I'm very actively shopping for a new solution right now.

If you have a presence on the web, keep your eyes focused on where the puck is now, and where it will be very soon.
