If 9to5Mac is correct, Apple will be updating the internals of an iPad for the first time outside of a major product launch. I'm sure some will complain, but if Apple can subtly improve the product with five months remaining before a typical new product launch, they should do it. I'll still continue to enjoy what my new iPad offers and others will enjoy theirs as well.
