Reuters Report: Buffet on Apple
I know he's widely regarded as a genius, and who am I to give advice, but if you don't understand what's driving Apple's success, maybe work hard to understand what Apple does.

Paulo Santos writing for Seeking Alpha:
The Kindle fire's sales, too, fell off a cliff. Here data is sketchier, but as IDC revealed today, Kindle fire's share of the tablet market fell from 17% in Q4 2011, to just 4% in Q1 2012. So its sales fell more than 75% as well.
I have 5 words to say about this concept video over at iDowloadBlog.
Please steal this idea Apple.
Horace Dediu has a great post up today about the market share of the smartphone competitors and the market disruption in the low end price area.
Of the vendors tracked (public companies who report mobile phone divisional performance), Apple obtained 73% of operating profits, Samsung 26% and HTC 1%.
Every other smartphone manufacturer made less profit selling smartphones than I did. Crazy.
Most importantly for Apple and Android, when consumers are given a choice between phones they are picking iPhones.
Apple today just released version 1.0.1 of iPhoto for iOS. Apple's release notes are as follows:
• When publishing a journal to iCloud, the URL of the journal can now be copied using a Copy Link button
• Addresses an issue that could cause duplicate photos to appear in Photos view
• Includes stability improvements
Since iPhoto's 1.0 release, there's been a very glaring flaw present in the app that makes it almost unusable. I've been waiting patiently for the first update and a fix. All my events in the Photos app appear in the correct order, as do the photos contained in each event. Launching iPhoto however, is a whole different experience. Events are listed on their pretty glass shelves in completely random order along with completely random photo order.
There must be nobody at Apple actually using this app. With this failed update, iPhoto for iOS has just gotten jiggly and X'd on both my new iPad and my iPhone.
Shawn Blanc has written a very nice summary of his experince using an iPad as his primary mobile machine. I agree with most everything he says, particularly the part about retaining a MacBook for those times when only a 'real' computer will do the job.
According to iMore, Apple has begun to replace longstanding iMacs with iPads at the kids tables in their stores. This is but another sign that Tim Cook isn't kidding when he says Apple sees iPads replacing traditional computers in many markets.
According to Reuters, Apple may be working on a deal with EPIX to allow streaming content from members Lions Gate, MGM & Paramount Pictures.
I just finished reading this new book by Ken Segall. If you want some great insight into what makes Apple tick and how you can incorporate the idea of simplicity into your life or business, buy this book.
